American style food in the restaurant. Hammock and spa bath in communal area.virginie a26/02/2023Arrêtez vous à cette adresse ! Guest house très bien situé, au calme tout en étant proche de l'aéroport. On est en pleine nature avec des singes au réveil. Personnel au topOn y mange très bien. Il y a certains jours un musicien. L'ambiance y est très cool.On y est resté 2 nuits.goyourownway25/02/2023Excellent starting and ending point for Uganda trip N00°04.700', E032°28.315' Opened in 2016, this Belgian-run lodge with 18 rooms, 3 tents, a dormitory and a campsite, is just under a 20-minute drive from Entebbe airport and is a good starting point for exploring Uganda. The waterfront bar and restaurant overlook a small pond (not for swimming) with the Lunyo wetland beyond. Monkeys and birds prowl through the canopy at dusk. A cool art gallery and a boda-boda rental counter are on site. Wi-fi access only in the café.In December 2022, our villa 17 was the furthest from the bar, had a veranda, a large bathroom with good towels and a bedroom with mosquito net and desk. The shower was hot. The bed slept like any other bed in Africa: not soft. The ViaVia bar and restaurant offers two beers on tap and a menu for breakfast, appetisers, snacks, soups & salads, pastas, dinner and desserts. For those arriving by plane in Entebbe around midnight, the restaurant also offers food until late at night. We ordered the Go Local menu, a combination of traditional Ugandan food with goat stew, beans, rice, boiled matoke, sweet potato, boo sauce & avocado wedges (22,000sh). The food tasted good.ViaVia Guesthouse is an excellent starting point to explore Uganda. We felt at home during our first steps in an unfamiliar country and returned to ViaVia for a final dinner on our way home. Sarah12/11/2022Best Place to stay in Uganda My husband and I completed a 14 day tour of Rwanda and Uganda and stayed in a variety of different hotels, lodges. We completed our tour in Entebbe. Via via was by far the best place we stayed in. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. From initial booking our room, via via sent a message thanking us for our booking and checking if there was anything they could do to make our stay and check in smooth. This was very reassuring as we knew before we arrived that customer care was important to them.We arrived and check in was efficient, they check your temperature on arrival and offer hand sanitiser, again very reassuring that infection control and hygiene were important. Our room was clean and spacious, with hot water and WiFi (after 14 days of sometimes not having water this was amazing). The room was very comfortable and had all the necessary facilities. At reception you can buy beautiful souvenirs at a great price and they ensure they are well wrapped for your journey home.We were flying late the following night so had a full day at our leisure. They offer a range of day trips that can be booked. We opted for the Shoebill trip to the swamps. Thoroughly recommend this trip and they send delicious snacks for your trip. All dealt with efficiently. There is a small swimming pool, fabulous bar and restaurant overlooking the water where you can watch the wildlife. There is also a lounge area with local art work and table tennis. We attended for dinner, most place we had been the wait for food could be 1 hour plus so we went slightly earlier. The menu was varied with something to suit every taste. We ordered and to our astonishment our freshly prepared starter appeared in a timely manner, was hot, beautifully presented and delicious. The rest of the meal was equally as good. The staff checked that we were comfortable and ensured everything was to our satisfaction. We had experienced various food standards throughout our trip, this food was as good as any we would have in a restaurant in the UK and represented excellent value for money. We witnessed hard working, polite staff who were continually ensuring high standards of cleanliness and customer service. They are a real credit.Again breakfast was amazing, freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Definitely the best food and accommodation in Uganda.Via via organised airport transfer which was efficient and got us there with plenty time.Overall I would advise anyone staying in Entebbe to stay here, you have the local charm, hardworking dedicated staff and amazing food and hospitality. A real gem in Uganda.Tripadvisor rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 291 reviews
